  Information about Landmark Credit Services

  Who is Landmark Credit Services?
We are credit repair specialist. We assist individuals in restoring damaged credit
by having credit bureaus remove negative and derogatory information from your
credit reports.

How does credit repair work?

Primarily we take advantage of several consumer credit laws. They include The
Equal Opportunity Act, Privacy Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Fair Debt Collection Reporting Act. Congress passed these laws in the 1960’s to help assure consumers the right of privacy regarding how and what is reported by the credit bureaus.

Can you remove information, even if it is mine?

Yes, the process works similar to what would happen if you received a ticket for
running a red light. If you went to court and the police officer did not show up. What
would happen to the ticket? Exactly….but if he did show up……that is where we come
in and work on getting it removed for numerous reasons.

What can you do that I can’t do myself?

Get results. Many of our clients realize that they can attempt this process themselves. Some have tried and become disillusioned by the red tape that creditors and credit bureaus use to elude the credit laws. The advantage we have is that we are familiar
with the laws that regulate reporting, and the techniques that will make these laws
work for your benefit. We can cite specific areas in the laws that average consumer
are unaware of.

  The Process

When is my first bill due?
Your first bill will be due approximately 30 days from the time you sign up for
our services. Whenever you sign up, your bill will be due on the 1st or 15th of the
following month, depending on your selection when you sign up.

Who will do the work on the credit reports?
Our expert staff of technical personnel will make actual contact with the credit
bureaus or creditors. The actual removal of negative items will be done by the
credit bureaus personnel themselves.

How will I know the work is actually being done?
You will receive updated credit reports from the credit bureaus state the progress
made on your reports. These update will come to your mailing address and it will
be your responsibility to forward all information to our office within 2 business days
of receiving the reports. You will receive these updates usually in about six to eight
weeks from the time the creditors and the credit bureaus are first contacted by us.
You will continue receiving the reports for the duration of your agreement with
Landmark.

Should I notify my creditors that I’m having my credit repaired?
No, this will only jeopardize our efforts. These people are the ones who put the
information there in the first place. Any attempt to remove it is against their
desires. By alerting them, you only hinder us in finding the weaknesses in their
actions. Remember that we are their allies; therefore, we are the creditors and
credit bureaus worst nemesis.

Will the information reappear once it has been removed?
This only happens about 2% of the time. If it does happen we will work on it again.
This is a statement that the credit bureaus put out to deter consumers from
exercising their rights.

Will the negative information be removed if I pay the debt?
No, there is no legal obligation for the creditors to remove the negative once a
settlement is made. Their only obligation is to show that the account has been paid.
It will still remain a negative on the report for 7 to 10 years from the date of last
activity created by your actions.

Isn’t a paid negative better than an unpaid negative?
No, there are only two rating on a report, “negative” and “positive”. A paid negative
is a negative regardless if it is paid or not. All other rating in your report will fall
under those two heading. Any attempt to make you believe otherwise is not true.
Any rating, even if it appears positive, is considered to be considered to be completely negative if even one negative notation is attached to the item.

Is information you receive from me considered to be confidential?
YES, No information pertaining to a consumer will be given to anyone outside of our service office without written permission of the consumer.

  oTher questions

How many credit bureaus are?
Nationwide, there are thousands of bureaus. The three major bureaus are
Experian (formerly TRW), Trans Union, and Equifax (also know as CSC and CBI).
These are the three we will automatically work with to clear your credit bureau
reports. Once cleared with these three, you should have no problem obtaining
credit due to negative information.

Are inquires considered negative?
Yes, the more inquiries you have the more negative your report and the harder it
will be for you to obtain credit. Yes, we do work on removing them also.

Can you accept clients from other states?
Yes, the bureaus we work with are all nationwide. This means we can accept clients
from anywhere in the U.S.A.

Do I have to pay off the debts?

We do not advocate non-payment of debts. However, that is totally between you
and your creditors.

Why do you hear so much that credit repair does not work?
Creditors and credit bureaus spend huge amounts of money to get this idea across
to the public. They realize this is the only way to keep control. If you notice, these statements are usually made by creditors and credit bureaus. If the process was not working, why would they spend so much money trying to deter you from this effort?

Can you remove student loans, bankruptcies, tax liens, judgments, inquires, etc.?
Yes, virtually any item has the potential of being removed.
